To go live on a Facebook group, you need to have a Facebook page connected to the group.
Facebook has 2 types of pages:
Classic Pages are the older version, and they have been around since Facebook first launched them in 2007. While Classic Pages are still functional, Facebook is gradually phasing them out in favor of the new Pages experience.
New Pages experience was first introduced in 2020. The new Pages experience is designed to be more modern and user-friendly, and it offers several new features and benefits that Classic Pages do not.
Previously with Vajro, only the groups nested in Classic Pages were enabled to go live. We have now extended support to the new Pages experience as well.
To add a group to a Classic Page, follow these steps:
Go to your group and click on the Manage button in the left sidebar.
Scroll down and click on Group Settings.
Scroll down to the Manage Advanced Settings section and click on Linked Pages.
In the Linked Pages pop-up, click on the Link button next to the page you want to connect.
Confirm the action and you will see a notification that Facebook has successfully connected the page to your group.
However, the process is a bit more complicated for new Pages experience. Please follow the steps on this help doc to set it up: Facebook Group - New Pages Experience Guide.
Once the setup on the Facebook group is completed we are good to set up live on the dashboard.
Dashboard Setup
Step 1: Go to app.vajro.com > Live Selling.
Step 2: Click on the Create Session button to start setting up your live broadcast.
Step 3: In the session setup page, select the Facebook pages and groups you want to broadcast from the dropdown menu.
Note: Please select Pages and Groups that are currently connected. Selecting Groups that are not connected to the page will not work.
You can see if you've selected the New Pages Experience or the Classic Pages Experience under the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Once you have selected your Pages and Groups, finish setting up the rest of your broadcast details and settings.
Step 5: When you are ready to go live, click on the Go Live button to start your live video broadcast on the selected Facebook group.
